Improving intranet engagement

As a leading health enterprise, our customer wanted to add value and increase engagement for their intranet website built on SharePoint. They needed to reduce roadblocks and open communication among silos by revealing personalized and relevant content to the users.

CEI worked with the customer team to identify business goals, successes, constraints, and areas of failure within the existing Intranet. We took the pain points and aspirational analysis and began building out an information architecture. Through user interviews, we created user personas and defined the site taxonomy.

Our final solution combined UX, SharePoint, and .NET work to strengthen the business and user perspective with less focus on the specific technical platform. We created the ability to test business ideas prior to the creation of technical artifacts (thus saving valuable effort). The solution increased engagement with end users in determining real business requirements prior to implementation. We helped identify the key drivers behind high-value content isolated through analytics.
