Documentum 4i to Documentum 5 Upgrade for Nonprofit Organization

This nonprofit organization is the world's largest organization dedicated to helping today's girls become tomorrow's leaders. Its national headquarters is located in New York City and has over 400 employees dedicated to supporting its movement. Membership is nearly four million members throughout the United States, including Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, and in more than 80 countries.
The organization implemented the Documentum’s 4i web publishing solution to provide a toolset that enables the flexible and controlled management of its web content. Its current version of the Documentum 4 suite was built on proprietary web application server with various issues and limitations. In addition to addressing these issues, the organization wanted to enhance its publishing mechanism as well as the look-and-feel of the Documentum Web Publisher 4 client interface. It needed a single platform solution to achieve all of these goals.
CEI upgraded the organization’s Online Council Network and National Board Website applications successfully from Documentum 4i to Documentum 5. The following Documentum 4i Web Content Management components were upgraded to the Documentum 5 Web Development Kit-based platform during the course of the project:
- eContent Server
- Web Publisher
- Webtop
- Documentum Administrator
- Digital Asset Manager
- Media Service
- Application Builder
- Site Caching Service (SCS)
- Site Deployment Service (SDS)
- Content Intelligent Service
- Rendition Service
CEI completed the project on time, within budget and with a high level of quality. The organization gained the following as a result:
- Increased server performance
- Improved server memory usage
- Add-on Documentum 5 functionalities
- Consistent and easy-to-use client interface
