Scalable Web Application Enables Online Trading for Capital Management Group

Business Issue
This client is a capital management group that focuses on institutional trading with clients. The company makes investments in money market mutual funds, as well as other mutual fund instruments. They also manage accounts and route trades from Third-Party Plan Administrators (TPAs) and Institutional Investors to the National Securities Clearing Corporation (NSCC) for settlement and clearing. Administrative functions include pricing trade orders, reporting and trade execution.

They wanted to create a scalable trading and reporting system that would meet the growing needs and expectations of its current financial clients and support straight-through processing of trading information from the TPAs to the NSCC. The ability to integrate disparate internal systems and present a consolidated customer view was a critical key success factor. Consolidated cash management, reporting and trade processing systems were the focus of the project.

CEI Solution
CEI developed a solution to provide check and cash processing functions to their back office staff. The solution created one comprehensive view of the customer through an eCRM (Customer Relationship Management) database. All customer data and transactions, from both online and offline channels, were centralized into one database. New interfaces allowed clients to perform web-based tasks such as submitting a trade over the web or doing online account inquiries. Their staff and clients were given the ability to access the trading screens for trading and reporting purposes. CEI’s data-driven architecture allowed them to integrate and redefine data, as new requirements dictated, and enables the company to handle future growth.

Results
This client now has a dynamic trading system that will meet the current needs of the organization and position it for future growth. The system strengthens their service offering and complements its core back office business to support the organization’s growth. New eCRM options improve the customer experience by providing additional services targeted to their individual needs and interests.
